The Meilong 7x7 is a great budget 7x7 cube from Moyu. It has frosted plastic, which allows for more grip and also has great turning. The 7x7 is made by Moyu, a cubing company known for its performance and quality. This V2 version has a much stabler design, allowing for better turning and corner cutting. This cube is great for learning how to solve bigger cubes.

While many believe that the 6x6 is easier to solve than the 7x7 as it has fewer pieces, it is actually harder to solve when you first start out. This is because the 6x6 does not have a center, whereas the 7x7 does. This results in more algorithms being needed for the 6x6.

Trying to turn too fast broke the puzzle

Puzzle performed just fine while turning smoothly and not too fast. Unfortunately this was slower than my 5-year old no-name 7x7. As soon as I started turning faster, it started to catch. This was particularly apparent during edge-building where I would routinely get 1 or 2 lock-ups or pops per solve. Eventually I tried to turn too hard through a lock-up and the stalks of one of the pieces snapped. RIP.

Great performing budget cube

This is my first 7x7 and I did not want to spend a lot of money.this cube is surprisingly well performing with little lockup’s.out of the box it feels quite sandy but after using it it goes away.
