I have watched a few reviews/unboxings of the YJ MGC, and all of them spoke highly of the cube and mentioned a smooth turning, quick 4x4. The cube I received is stiff, sticky, and difficult to turn. The inner layers barely turn. I have tried loosening the screws and a bit of lube - still stiff and no where near the speeds I saw online.
The MGC original 4x4 is quite an old cube now with predecessors that are better, but in 2024 the cube is certainly an outright great choice. I only have one complaint, and that is that the inners are quite slow.
I am satisfied with the products that I have received. The waiting time was very little and the products itself was good, with no problems, but there is a weird sound that happens every time I turn the outer layer on one side of the 4x4.
The cube itself out of the box is scratchy, however after breaking the cube in and adding lube (to slow it down) the cube turns beautifully.In addition I want to emphasise how good the CubeCo’s customer service is!
